Wash beef and then cut it into medium cubes. Put them into a large pot, pour water and wine into the pot. Then, slow cook them until the meat gets tender.

Wash green onions and tie them up in small bunches. Peel the onion, and slice it in small chunks. Peel ginger and thinly slice.
Peel potatoes, wash them and cut them into small chunk pieces.

Heat up oil in a pan and fry potatoes until they turn crispy with golden color. Take them out and drain the oil.

In another clean pan, fry the ginger slices and anises. Add the onions and chilis to stir.
Next, add cooked beef and stir quickly. Add 10 milliliters of wine, 10 milliliters of soy sauce, 10 grams of oyster sauce and stir well.

Pour water in the pan. Add hawthorn fruits and the green onions, then boil until the pan almost runs out of the water.
Add the fried potatoes and salt to stir for 3 minutes. When the sauce boils and starts to become thicker, turn off the gas stove.
