Sambal shrimp rolls are definitely a well-known Chinese snack for New Year! As these rolls have a crispy coating and fragrant fillings,  no one is able to resist such delicious snacks, especially during get-togethers with family and friends. Despite the dish’s simple ingredients, the cooking process requires carefulness and meticulousness. Here is the recipe to cook this yummy snack for your family!

Cut each spring roll skin into 4 parts. Mix ingredients including dried chillies, garlics, shallots, belachan and dried shrimps in an electric blender. Also, beat the chicken in a bowl and stir it finely.

Blend the mixture well in an electric blender.

Heat up cooking oil in a pan and then stir-fry the mixture at step 2 (called sambal mixture).

Add sugar and continue to sitr-fry until the mixture become a bit dry. Take it out.

Take a small amount of the sambal mixture and wrap it with a spring roll skin in a way similar to the way you wrap a spring roll. Seal the edge of the roll with egg mixture.

Bake the wrapped shrimp rolls at 180 degrees for 12 minutes.
