Directions

Gulab Jamun is a popular dessert in India that is normally cooked at home. It’s more like a cake that you can be a nice treat or snack for your family. With our quick and easy recipe, you will soon be able to recreate Indian Gulab Jamun right in your kitchen.

Steps

1
Done

Add 300g of white sugar, 450 milliliters of water, 5 milliliters of rose syrup, cardamoms, pistachios and saffron in a saucepan. Then stir and boil the mixture over a small flame.
When it comes to the boiling point, turn off the stove.

2
Done

Put wheat flour, powdered milk, yeast, yogurt and 5 milliliters of cooking oil to a bowl and knead. However, in the process of kneading, if the dough is dry, we can add yogurt. Besides, avoid kneading or mixing it too carefully, as it will make the dough hard.

3
Done

Next, apply a little cooking oil on our hands, then roll the dough into small round balls.
But if the dough continues to crack because it is hard, we can add yogurt or fresh milk.
After that, heat up 200 milliliters cooking oil. When the oil is hot enough, we fry the dough balls over a small flame. Remember to turn them regularly to avoid these cakes from being burned.

4
Done

When the cakes are cooked, take them out to drain the oil outsides them. Then drop them into the pot of water and let them immersed for about 2 hours.

5
Done

After 2 hours, we will have a unique Indian Gulab Jamun (rose cakes) to enjoy.
